So, does anyone have any empty beer bottles, beer cans, or soda cans laying around? I want to try something. Uh, you can just drop them off at my place if you want, no need to hand them off in person. Just don't throw them through the windows, k? I don't want Nymeria chewing on them.

I'm... not sure she actually would, but I don't want to get blamed if she gets sick.

Whatever do you want them for?

I'm not quite sure yet. I had this idea, sort of, in my head, but involves using them to build. Maybe it's an artistic streak coming, or maybe my hands have just been idle to long. Need to get my fingers dirty with something, I guess.

I always thought the classic mode of getting one's hands dirty was gardening.

I do most of my work in space, and the only farm I lived on never had a lick of green on it. Gardening is probably the worst possible thing for me to do. I am literally surprised every time fresh vegetables don't just rot in my hands when I pick them up.

That would be a real trick.

Do tell me you won't be building terrible dust catchers that all your friends will feel obligated to keep on their book shelves and coffee tables.

Seriously though, what do you want the cans for?

I'm thinking about adding some decoration to the place. I know it's a bit college boy, but I can't really paint or anything like that, so I'll work with what I know. If I treat it like working on a bike, I think I can make up something pretty neat.

Oh! You're thinking of like a string of lights or something like that, right? I've made something like that but with different coloured plastic cups for a festival back where I'm from.

Not lights, more like.. a pattern maybe, or some sort of wall art - maybe with the labels or if I can cut open the cans and flatten them out. Something like that. Either way it gives me something to sit and do.

You could do a mosaic. Not a great big one mind you but a bunch of small ones. They could have a collaborative theme or you could just go nuts and do all sorts of crazy stuff in each one.

I might choose that latter one, I think! Like I said, I'm not super artistic, but I am kind of tired of bare walls. We need some other sign of us living there in the apartment then dog fur.
