World 03 - Returning to Normal Space [ Action / Audio ]
[ Okay, this sucked. This really, really sucked. To be quite honest he wasn't very sure how long he had been locked up and poked and prodded, but it was long enough and he had never been quite so happy for fresh air and trees. He just hated that he was jumping at every little crack and tweet. He hadn't been this twitchy since... well, he couldn't remember. Maybe his first big storm, but what did it matter? He was twitchy, but wouldn't you be after being held captive for so long?
And he was seriously out of shape if this jaunt through the wood was making him pant and sweat. He gulped, aching everywhere, and pretty sure that his already bruised up body would not thank him for this later. In fact, it was not thanking him now. It was violently protesting, and he finally gave him and found a place to ease himself down and sit.
He thought it must have been some sort of cruel mercy that his captors had given him back his journal-thing when he woke up inside the forest of his original birdcage. He glared at it for a minute as he tried to remember how to turn it on, and finally got it going, so a little image of him appeared to whoever was listen. ]
So, contrary to what I assume is popular belief, I'm not dead. But, uh, could use some help making it all the way home, you know? I'm sitting in the woods, hugging a tree, so come and find me. I don't plan on moving any time soon.
[ He doesn't think he looks to bad to others, at least. He has a few bruises around his jaw and nose, but otherwise does not seem overly harmed. Though the bruises are a lovely shade of blue and green at this point. ]
[ooc: Yup, he's back from kidnapping!! With a little side-effect: his flirt skills are going to be seriously cramped for a bit, since anytime he sees a girl, he'll get physically ill. Don't take it personally ladies.]

[voice]
Do you happen to hear water nearby?
Re: [voice]
[voice]
Lupin glanced up at the sky.]
Where is the sun relative to you?
Re: [voice]
[voice]
[A sigh.]
I'm a thief, not a psychic, you know.
Re: [voice]
Can't these things track each other?
[voice]
But....maybe you can take a picture of the area around you?
Re: [voice]
[It takes some fumbling, but he gets it and sends it over.]
That help?
[voice]
Looks like you're to the north. Let me get a few things put together and I'll be there in a few.
But first, question: how well dressed are you?
Re: [voice]
[A long sleeved shirt, pants, and thin shoes. Needless to say, he was cold.]
[voice]
[He'll just bring along the greatcoat that was a part of his Halloween costume, since that was his loosest garment, along with a blanket, scarf, extra gloves, and chemical hand warmers. They were standard supplies for the winter, and would have to suffice while his skills with Eferin were still in the beginning stages. The Filial spirit of fire taught his students how to wield light and heat--Lupin barely had an association with him. Keeping his hands warm was all he could manage.]
I'll be there soon then. Keep your book handy, and I'll keep mine. Just give me a ring in an emergency.
Re: [voice]
[He curls up tighter in his little space, breathing deeply and hoping the other got there before he lost a couple toes.]
[voice]
...There was also a mild but lingering cold that had settled deep into his chest, but that wasn't as big a bother.
He arrived close to the location and paused to catch his breath. The supplies were slung over his shoulder in a duffel bag, and his own personal gear was meager in comparison.]
Oi. [He called out breathlessly.] You around here?
Re: [voice]
Here-!
[voice]
[Lupin followed the sound of Kirk's voice into the brush, and halted when he caught sight of the sorry looking Captain. He pulled a blanket out from his duffel bag and tossed it at Kirk before he started on the rest.]
...you look like shit. What the hell did they do to you?
Re: [voice]
[He shrugged, grabbing the blanket and wrapping himself up in it.]
[voice]
[He pulled out the greatcoat next, going in order of largest item to smallest.]
Re: [voice]
[Kirk was not good with isolation, and he couldn't imagine Lupin would be either. Both of them were to social.
He took what items were offered, working them on and warming up, glad for it too.]
Thanks for coming out.
[voice]
[But it was part of what connected him to Krik's first officer--something that he didn't want to detail yet.]
...It's no problem. [A cough punctuated his words, clear evidence that he wasn't fully recovered himself. He tossed the chemical hand warmers at Kirk, followed by the mittens.]
You're a friend of a friend, and not a bad guy...even if you are a smart ass. Crack those little packets like you do a glow wand and drop them into the mittens before you put them on. That'll keep you hands warm.
[It saved his fingers during terrible snow storms last winter.]
Re: [voice]
Then the words really sank in -]
Wait, friend of a friend? Hurtful.
[voice]
[He pulled out the scarf to hand over.]
But you're a friend of Spock's, and he's a friend. That's what matters, right?
Re: [voice]
[He took the scarf and wrapped it around him, feeling his throat warm, which went down into his chest and he was extremely grateful for that.]
[voice]
[It's not his place to describe the accidents that were involved in his connection with Spock. The uncertainty that lingered in his mind was only one aspect of it. That Shift was damaging to all parties involved, but it left Spock utterly broken. The last six weeks were difficult, but he was almost certain that Spock was on the mend.
Lupin offered a hand.]
Let's go back to the village and get you some coffee.
Re: [voice]
[He grasped the hand and let himself be pulled up, hugging the warm clothing tighter to himself as they began the descent back into their little village.]
So... debrief me, Lupin. Anything interesting while I was away?
[voice]
[He was playing, hiding behind the humor for both of their sake. Lupin guided Kirk down the path but stayed close, in case Kirk needed a support. The cold air bit at him with every step-- he should have dressed better-- but they weren't too far from the village.
He idly flexed his fingers as he walked and tried to call on Eferin for a little something, but he was too distracted by the cold wind. The clouds were going to break soon, his intuition told him. Kirk was lucky to have arrived when he did.
...enough games:]
It's the middle of November now, so let's see...
Halloween brought us an influx of ghosts. And, it also brought us a terrible draft. Zombies were involved. [And it nearly undid all of his progress with Spock.] October was quiet besides that, so there hasn't been much.
Really? You just missed Halloween and you're a week or so out from Thanksgiving...right? I'm not from the States, so I don't always pay attention to your holidays.
