STAR TREK AU - KIRK & CABOOSE [ LOCKED ]
Most of the time it was pretty easy to please his boyfriend of the past several years. You could toss a ball of colorful string at him and he could keep himself entertained for hours, which was both adorable and sometimes worrying, depending on the situation. But he wouldn't change him for the world - he loved coming home to that happiness, that blissfulness. And now that he had a long enough break, he thought he would do something to please him that would be - well, special.
Never mind that it was their anniversary. Yes, Kirk actually remembered and kept track of that. That was how committed he actually was to this, which came as a surprise to much of his crew the first time he had remembered. Kind of a surprise to him too, but love did strange things to a man didn't it?
He looked over to Caboose, reaching out to grasp his hand as he angled the car for the exit that would take them to the surprise he had in store - a trip to the biggest and best amusement park just outside San Diego (an hour was just outside, right?).
"Excited?" he asked him, giving his hand a squeeze as he made the turn onto the drive that led to the theme park's parking lot.

"Heh, maybe. That would look pretty funny," he ruffled his hair, tugging him along.
The rest of the rides passed in something of a blur, flitting from one place to another, usually with one more picture in his pocket, stopping for a few characters along the way. Kirk couldn't remember the last time he'd had a day purely about fun an enjoying something. So much of his life was wrapped up in Star Fleet, and that usually involved part of his day having to do with work or researching something or making a report. Even when he was home with Caboose he would something small to do here and there, unable to keep his hands out of it. But this was different. This needed to be just them, all about them, and nothing else filtering in through the edges. It was going to be a special weekend, and he owed it to Caboose to be his entirely, not have his attention split, no matter how small that fraction might be.
Eventually they left to check into the hotel room - a large suite with a perfect view of the park and the surrounding grounds. Picturesque was the word Kirk thought the website had used to describe it and it certainly lived up to it. It even came complete with two Mickey towel creations holding hands on the bed. They had time to settle their things and change their clothes before heading back into the park for dinner at Cinderella's Castle, which was a fair bit more ornate than one might expect, but it was Dinner after all.
A glittering hall, tables dressed in shimmering fabric to mimic Cinderella's dress, drinks served in crystal glasses and plates made of the same, sculptures of crystal mice holding up the candles, wrapped with pink ribbon. All allusions to the film, he was sure, but he hadn't ever actually watched it. Still, it made quite the picture and that was what counted. He would just have to trust the recommendations of the rep... and normally he would never consider doing this kind of thing, but Caboose was... special. Very special. And when someone was special and you loved them, you wanted this moment to be something they'd never forget, that they'd truly appreciate, so any ordinary way of going about this simply wasn't going to do. In fact most ordinary guys wouldn't love Disney quite this much, but hey, he wasn't dating an ordinary guy, he was dating Caboose.
"How's your dinner?" he asked Caboose as he cut into his own steak. God he missed real meat. Well, the stuff on the Enterprise was real, but the term was used very loosely.

And then there was the room, looking like it was right out of a movie just from how clean and neat and pretty everything was. It took a few reassurances from Kirk that it was alright for him to come in and sit down or touch some of the decorations. The room was so fancy, Caboose had to make a mental note to remember not to freak out the next morning or think he's still dreaming when he wakes up there.
After a quick wash up and change into fresh clothes, they're off again and- oh, what a dinner hall it is. His sisters would be so jealous if they could see! And the food. Caboose almost melts in his chair at the first bite, a pleased hum escaping his lips as he smiles.
"It tastes amazing! I wish I could keep eating this all the time. How about yours?"

He was such a kid, sometimes, but that was really part of his charm. That sweet innocence, which Kirk sometimes wondered how he hung onto after all that happened. But it made Caboose unique and special, a reason Kirk loved him as much as he did.
His eyes flicked towards an approaching figure - a young man employed by the park, dressed as Cinderella's Prince Charming. He had a convincing look of excited and a flush to his cheeks. Not bad. The young man came up to their table, taking one knee and grasping Caboose's hand.
"Fair sir!" he declared. "Never have I laid eyes on such a beautiful prince before! This - this is what they call true love!" All right, a bit cheesy, but Kirk had to smile and give him props. It was very Disney. "Would you do me the honor of marrying me, fair prince?" Prince Charming asked, holding up a simple platinum band with a half-ring of small diamonds set in the top.

Caboose almost jumps when the prince approaches their table, shooting Kirk a semi-frantic glance across the table before the man starts his grand speech. His ears turn a little red from his blush when the ring is presented and it takes a moment for his voice to come out without stuttering too much before he says, "U-um- Uh, n-no thank you. I ah- I'm sure you're very nice but I already have a Captain who makes me happy. He's right here."
Caboose tilts his head towards Kirk, giving his boyfriend a small but adoring smile through the blush slowly making its way from his ears to his cheeks.

Somehow, Caboose always made his worries vanish whenever he came home, in those quiet moments when they simply lay together - sometimes in bed, sometimes on the couch, sometimes in a makeshift pillow fort. They were both broken and stitched back together in some way, shape, or form, He liked to think that they kept each other's stitches in, helped the wounds heal smooth.
"Ah, what cruelty, that my true love should be in love with another!" the prince sighed dramatically, making the people around them giggle. He rose to his feet, looking down at Kirk and handing the ring to the Captain. "Take it, with my blessing. I only ever wish for my love to be happy!" he declared before spinning away.
Kirk watched him go and laughed softly, spinning the ring between his fingers. "I really make you happy enough to say no to a Prince?"
no subject
"And besides... you like me for me. For- uh. Even for all the pieces that don't quite fit together again. That's better than any prince or any castle. Even in Disney land."
no subject
"Yeah, I do," he agreed, coughing as he slid out of his chair and down to one knee, facing Caboose. He held out the ring, not wanting to admit he was shaking, but he was, a little. How could he not, with his heart hammering so hard he was sure it would burst right out of his chest, or at the least a rib would break.
"Caboose, your pieces may not all fit together, but neither do mine. It's only when I found you that I found those missing pieces." A breath. Deep one. "Caboose - will you marry me?"
no subject
Caboose watches as Kirk slips out from his seat at the table, eyes widening when Kirk drops to one knee and holds the ring out to him. He almost forgets to breathe at what comes next. For the most part, Caboose was pretty well convinced that he'd never get married, not just for what happened to him but for all of his shortcomings that his step-father has been all too keen to point out to him over the years. He'd be lying to himself if he didn't have the underlying worry that Kirk would find someone he liked more; those thoughts usually snuck in when the nightmares would wake him or when they have the inevitable disagreements that come with any relationship. But here he was, eyes bright and earnest and waiting for an answer.
A flush of warmth rises from his chest to his cheeks, eyes fogging with happy tears as he stoops to curl his arms tight around his boyfriend to lift him up in a hug.
Smiling big and bright despite the shine in his eyes he cries, "YES! OF COURSE! I ju- You really mean it?"
no subject
"Of course I mean it, Mikey," he murmured softly against his ear, kissing it and then his cheek and then his lips, wriggling to get the other to let him down and to his feet. "I want to spend every day with you, adopt every cat with you, and build every pillow fort with you." He took Caboose's hand, slipping the ring onto his finger, stroking the hand and gazing at the adorned digit. "I love you, Mickey. Think it's about time I made it official, huh?"

Beaming brighter with every kiss Caboose gently sets Kirk down, leaning down a little to linger a bit longer on that last one before they part. It feels so unreal, almost too good to be true. If not for Kirk's hand holding his he'd think he was dreaming. Blinking down at the ring, Caboose tilts forward a little so he can rest his forehead against Kirk's. He didn't think of it really when the prince from earlier had presented it to him, but knowing it's from Kirk- his fiance, it seemed to make the jewels sparkle brighter.
"This is the best day. Ever! Of all time."
It's seems more than appropriate to say that Caboose is starstruck, and completely blown away and so very very happy. A small, satisfied sigh escapes him as he shifts to press his lips to Kirk's forehead.
"I love you too, Jim."
no subject
He wrapped his arms around Caboose's shoulders, cupping the back of his head. He could practically feel the other's happiness, a warm glow that never failed to make him smile, made his own cheeks warm. He stroked the back of his head, playing with his hair, kissing his nose before finding his lips again.
"Well, hopefully the actual wedding day is better," he laughed. "But for now, that's a good answer."
His own eyes close at the kiss to his forehead, his smile softer now, cupping Caboose's cheek.
"Come on, we should finish our dinner," he hummed, moving Caboose to sit back down before taking his own seat as well, though now he kept one hand on Caboose's on the table as he ate the rest of his meal, wanting to touch him, feel that warm glow on him.

Which lead to the next surprise for the night! When they left the dining hall of Cinderella's palace a sparkling carriage sat waiting for them with both prince and princess waiting for them. There's less acting and more genuine joy from them as they congratulate the couple on a very successful proposal and well wishes of future happiness before they stand back to let Caboose and Kirk take their places in the parade that night. It was fun to wave and smile at the crowds when they first set off, but Caboose was so easily drawn back to his lover, wanting to be affectionate but not inappropriately so. Still, the shadows of the rounded carriage hid any kisses and wandering hands even as the fireworks for the night lit up the sky.
Excited and almost breathless, Caboose held Kirk's hand tight as he led the way back to their suite. It took a few tries to get the key card into the slot before the door swung open to let them in. "Home at last!" he exclaims with a huff of laughter, turning to curl his arms around Kirk's waist and nuzzle his hair.

The carriage surprise had taken some work, but when you save the world a couple of times and flash enough cash, well, Disney can make anything happen. He was just glad Caboose liked it, enjoyed the whole experience. He wanted to make this perfect, something they would never forget - but more so Caboose than himself. Nothing was to good for him, for this sweet man that he found himself wanting more than anything in the world, whom he cuddled in a pillow fort at least once a week on laundry night, whom he looked forward to seeing every time he came home, that he commed nightly from his ship because his face and his voice made it easier to sleep.
When they reached the room and Caboose turned to him, his arms wrapped naturally around the other, kissing his neck. His hands slid lover, cupping over his rear, giving it a squeeze before rising to wrap around his shoulders. He looked up at him and grinned, jumping slightly and wrapping his legs around the muscular former soldier, kissing his lips. Caboose was a sweet man, but he had to admit he liked that Caboose could carry him and would.
"Ready for bed?" he asked him, eyes sparkling.
no subject
"Yeaaah, but... not for sleeping," he grinned, taking a few large steps to bring them to the side of their bed. "How about you?"
no subject
"Definitely not for sleeping," he smiled brightly. "In fact, I might need some help getting tired so I can go to sleep..." Brows wagged up and down, nipping his nose.
no subject
"Oooh I can help! I can help lots," he murmurs dipping his head to nuzzle and kiss the skin of Kirk's neck. They had barely begun but he could already feel his heartbeat skipping in his chest.
no subject
"Hmm, I know you can," he smiled, hands slipping inside of his shirt, caressing his sides and back, around to his chest. His thumbs brushed over nipples, biting his lip around a grin at the other's earnestness, the beat of his heart he could feel in his hands. "And I need lots and lots of help, babe..."
no subject
"Mmn... I- I'd do anything for you, Jim." he smiles sweetly up at his Captain, blush be damned.
no subject
"Anything?" he rasped against his skin.
no subject
"A-anything... so long as you keep doing that."
no subject
"Think you could put on your pretty little collar tonight?" he purred against wet skin, rolling the bud between his teeth.
no subject
It takes him a few moments to realize that Kirk is speaking to him, lost as he is in the motion of their hips and the threat of teeth against the sensitive nub.
"Wha- uh... of course! Do- um... d-do you-" he blinks hard, lifting a hand to card through Kirk's hair and gently tilt his head up and away from his chest for a moment. It's too hard to think and speak clearly when he's so distracted. "Do you want me to get the ears too?"
no subject
"Yes, ears and your collar," he purred, slipping off him and rolling to the center of the bed in order to let Caboose up to fetch them. He would use the time to strip himself of his jeans and underwear, tracking Caboose across their room with his eyes.
no subject
Leaning in a little to steal a kiss while they changed positions, Caboose almost wobbles a little when he's back on his feet and padding over to his luggage. He's pretty grateful that Kirk took care of the buttons for his shirt, as excited as he was he'd probably pop a few of them trying to get it off but for now the fabric easily slides to the floor, soon followed by his trousers and underwear.
The ears go on first, headband sliding through his hair and against his scalp before the neural link synchronizes; the tips of the ears twitch back and forth once, before settling into peeked attention in response to Caboose's emotions. The collar- now that was special. Slipping it out of it's protective case, he held it almost reverently back to the bed where his lover lay waiting for him. Kneeling by the side of the bed, Caboose rested his torso against the edge of the mattress, leaning over with his arms extended to offer the collar out to Kirk.
Grin bright and almost cheeky, he asks, "Help me put it on?"
no subject
"Of course, kitten," he murmured, sitting up and reaching out to take the collar.
It was made of fine Italian leather, still smelling like new but then Kirk always took care to clean it when they finished playing. A crystal bell was attached to the front, jingling quietly as he wrapped it around Caboose's throat and secured the silver clasp. The position meant he was bent down close to Caboose's ear, and he took the opportunity to blow on one black ear from between pursed lips.
"There we go."
