At least the sedative was effective. Good. Leonard let out a relieved sigh, and while Jim slept he got a wet cloth to brush over his forehead, face and neck, just to cool his skin a little. Aside from that, there wasn't much else he could do for him, so he just left a glass of water on the nightstand and headed back to sick bay.
All day his mind was with Jim, though. Kept drifting back to him, mostly out of concern, but a small part of him was admittedly turned on by the mere knowledge that Jim was in heat, and he hated it. He hated how it was starting to affect his concentration, how it was changing even the way he acted in a way all too familiar to him. But he fought the urge, which thankfully for now was manageable thanks to the inhibitors he himself took.
Still, it did nothing to ease the way his heart leapt in his chest when Jim contacted him again. It had been nine hours now since he was in his quarters, so that had to be at least a full eight hours of sleep, which was almost unprecedented with Jim. Admittedly, he was almost afraid of the state he'd find Jim in, but he went anyway, readying himself mentally before he unlocked the door and stepped inside, looking around briefly and then making his way to the bed where Jim was curled up. "Gettin' worse?"
