[ Okay, that got Kirk's attention. He gave this his real full
attention, and when he next spoke, his tone was not quite as jovial. It was
harder, even a bit chiding. ]
That's a bit unkind of you, don't you think, Lumiere? Is that how you spoke
to him last?
[Lumière's unphased. He spent a decade dealing with a literal Beast, he can deal with most anger with bearly a blink of the eye. ]
If you have ever noticed our conversations, we are generally not pleasant towards one another. It's how we are. Regardless, no, I didn't. I was just as unhappy that Atroma decided to keep him behind, but I told him the curse was lifted for him, too. He still seems to be under the impression that his not going home is somehow something to do with his worthiness. It's very unlike him, to be honest. Very out of character. I'm getting worried about him.
[Lumière's not great at sincerity, it's not part of his general repertoire, so that's enough of that. He's much more prone to remain pleasant, amicable. Ironically, Cogsworth is the only one he ever really DOES get angry towards. Another charming smile, a little bow.]
If you do see him, tell him to come back to he Wonderduck, s'il vous plaît. It is not the same without him.
You might not be pleasant, but you aren't cruel to each other, Lumiere.
There's a difference, and you know it.
Try and look at it from his perspective. You go home, you come back and you
have your body back. The curse is broken! I'm sure he's happy for you
Lumiere, but now Cogsworth has also lost the only person on this ship who
was having the same experience as him. You've moved beyond it, and I can
bet he's rather afraid that you might move beyond him too. Any friend would
be, when their friend goes through such a big life change.
[ His tone is less harsh and more coaxing, trying to get Lumiere to
practice empathy to some degree. ]
Have you tried reaching out to him through the comms? In a concerned way.
[He's purposefully ignoring the chiding, he came to check on a friend, not get a lecture from someone a great deal younger than him. He keeps things pleasant, professional. He doesn't know Kirk that well, and he's certainly not earned the sincerity some of his friends get on occasion. ]
Of that, I am well aware. Atroma was cruel, to not send him back, too. I understand this is the exact response they probably wanted from him, for their drama. But, it is still cruel.
[OH GEE KIRK, HE DIDN'T THINK OF THAT AT ALL, WOW. ]
That is what I have been trying. He is not responding to me.
[ Hes only 8 years younger, Lumiere, and probably with just as much
life experience. He’s DIED for god’s sake. He would be less chiding if
Lumiere actually did seem sincere in his concern for Cogsworth, but that’s
the trouble with only he acquaintances. Hard to see through the bullshit
each of you throws up to hide the semi-sweet core beneath. ]
He probably needs time alone to adjust to your new situation and his own.
I’d say keep reaching out to him, but ultimately he’ll need to come to you
in his own time.
Just... keep trying. He’ll come around. But if the situation gets critical,
try sending out an SOS over the main network if you haven’t already.

Merci, all the same.
Re: Video
There is far to much truth in that for comfort.
[ He let's out a frustrated sigh. ]
If you find him, let me know too, please. I'll send you a message if I find him before you.
Bonne chance, Lumiere.

Until then, mon ami.
