Things like that tend to happen, but it's sometimes the best relationships
that grow out of things like that. So, when are you two going on your first
date?
Start with dinner. That's a good place to be. You're dating, but you don't
need to spend every moment together, and you don't want to rush things
either.
Right. I'm not, uh, that experienced when it comes to dating. I've had exponentially more rejections than actual relationship. And Keith is--well, you've met him. He's Keith, which throws a wrench into any typical anything ever.
[He shakes his head, but chuckles.]
Worth it a million times over, but I think I'm still in for a challenge.
Well, that's good to hear, otherwise I would seriously question why you
were pursuing him at all.
[ He shook his head. ]
As for dating, it's really not all that hard. It's just spending time
together, but sometimes with an activity thrown in and your exclusive
attention on that person.
I know. I've had a girlfriend or two before, but none of that really prepares me for him.
[There'a a pause, and he groans.]
Sorry, I don't know why I'm still so nervous about everything! Like it's still gonna blow up in my face even though the biggest roadblock is over! What if I'm not good enough, and he's all, oh, this was a mistake?
[ Kirk laughs in response, the kind of laugh of a big brother enjoying
the discomfort of his sibling about to go to prom with his sweetheart for
the first time. It's a good thing. ]
Lance, from what you've told me, you two have been through a lot of crap
together, and Keith himself doesn't seem to be someone who enters into
things lightly. If he was going to think that, I don't think he would have
started dating you.
Just pinch your cheek and enjoy it and put away the finger guns.

[He scratches the back of his head. Quiznak.]
I'm open to suggestions.
