[ Admittedly, after Fenris' admission, this probably wasn't the place
things should go. They probably weren't, but he didn't mind if they did. He
was still upset over Fenris not telling him at first, but he couldn't hold
onto it. Not if he wanted them to be able to move forward. Besides, he was
trying now, and he gave him credit for that, and wanted to have faith in
him moving forward. ]
I'm going to hold you to it.
[ His head tilted, nose brushing against Fenris' cheek. ]
[Fenris was very good at not dealing with his emotions by engaging in other things. Sex, fighting, training. It was easier than facing all of the internal mess that was his own head. Still, even he knew this was not the best course of action. He exhaled, pressing a kiss against Kirk's jawl before moving back a little. ]
Though, perhaps it would be better to decompress first.
[ Kirk nodded in affirmation, thinking the same things, knowing it was
right to do and not let either of them unintentionally take advantage of
the other. Even so, he cupped his face and gave him a proper kiss on the
mouth, the slightest suck on his bottom lip. ]
Want a drink? Or is that bad for decompressing too?
I know. But I know sometimes things can happen. And I would ask that of
anyone on this ship really - if I knew they planned to get drunk off their
asses. Or if you do go out - call one of us to shuttle you home, please?
[ And he says no more on it. Fenris could call it mollycoddling if he
wanted, for Kirk it was just the basic sort of concern you should show for
a friend whom you knew was going to go out drinking. Least of all someone
you had just entered a relationship with. ]
When you have some time, perhaps we can read together too? We haven't done
so in a long while.
That is true. Perhaps we will find something entirely different to read. As much as I am grateful for the Fleet's...offerings towards me, there is only so much of it you can read.
[He's getting kinda bored with all the objectified Scotsman stuff, ok. ]

I can assure you, I absolutely will.

Perhaps one. I would very much like to get very, very drunk, but that would end...rather badly, probably.

I would prefer you do it on the ship at least. I'd worry otherwise.
[ He got up and went to the place he kept his small store of alcohol. He pulled out the nicer of the bottles and two glasses, giving one to Fenris. ]

You do know I can take care of myself, right?

[ Because Uber isn't a thing here. ]

I suppose I can do that much. For your peace of mind.

Thank you.

I would like that very much, actually.

[ He does try. ]
We're on a planet that sells just about anything. I'm sure we can find some new novels to read.
