Caboose watches as Kirk slips out from his seat at the table, eyes widening when Kirk drops to one knee and holds the ring out to him. He almost forgets to breathe at what comes next. For the most part, Caboose was pretty well convinced that he'd never get married, not just for what happened to him but for all of his shortcomings that his step-father has been all too keen to point out to him over the years. He'd be lying to himself if he didn't have the underlying worry that Kirk would find someone he liked more; those thoughts usually snuck in when the nightmares would wake him or when they have the inevitable disagreements that come with any relationship. But here he was, eyes bright and earnest and waiting for an answer.
A flush of warmth rises from his chest to his cheeks, eyes fogging with happy tears as he stoops to curl his arms tight around his boyfriend to lift him up in a hug.
Smiling big and bright despite the shine in his eyes he cries, "YES! OF COURSE! I ju- You really mean it?"
