Lets just say Caboose and his step father don't get along too well. If he could help it, his step father was never overtly mean but it was very obvious that he didn't think much of Caboose for being a bit of a disappointment in school and took his enrollment in the army as maybe one of the only positive things Caboose has done in his life. That he then managed to get caught up in a clusterfuck and then discharged was enough to neatly sever any chances of a positive relationship between them. It's why Caboose had lived on his own even though there was room enough in the house and his sisters and mother would be happy to have him there.

It wasn't all bad though, having his own space allowed him to get used to himself again. And he didn't have to worry about disturbing anybody whenever Kirk came to visit. Well. No one except his neighbours that one time. When Caboose had moved in with Kirk his recovery got a whole lot easier; and since then they've only gotten better.

Beaming at the kiss Caboose shifted closer to wrap both arms around Kirk to give him a quick squeeze of a cuddle, lips pressing briefly to Kirk's cheek before he lets go. "Mmmm Okay!" And in true Caboose spirit, he takes off in the direction of the Matterhorn with a cheer over his shoulder, "Race you there!"
