It was yours, Grimm's, and Steve's first. I kinda moved in when a thing happened- so did Mal. Then grimm went missing and steve went missing and you vanished so it was just us- then North appeared and theta and delta so...yeah. It's sort of been home for awhile now.

_{[ He sipped his beer slowly as he listened to that, not understanding half of it to be honest. But there it was again, the ghost of someone else, some other him. Who, from what he had been hearing, was kind of an asshole and he wasn't sure he liked that. More and more he felt phantom teeth nipping at his heels.

But screw that. He was his own man, his own person, and he hoped he wasn't as much of an asshole as the past Jim. Whatever had happened, he wasn't him, and he couldn't spend his time worrying about things like that. ]}

Well, it's nice. If I had known I'd been in here before, might have asked for my old room back when I arrived.

Not that D4 wasn't delightful, but it's hard to go back to an apartment when you've been living in a house for three years.

[ He kicks back to sip his tea, staring across. Differences are there, yeah, and this is A Jim. Not the one he knew and that's alright. He's still a decent guy. ]

_{[ There's a flicker of sadness that ran across his face, because while he had not been attached to many things inside of that apartment, there had been one piece, and to have it destroyed had hurt him more than he had expected.

But he had replaced it in a new way, a better way, permanent now running down his ribs. ]}

I'm rooming with a friend while I save up, find a new place. Getting the studio set me back a bit, but he hasn't complained so far, so I think I'm good for a little bit longer. Can't say I'm hating actually having room to stretch my legs.

Those apartments aren't half bad but a nice house? Always a good place to set up shop. Or you know. Hole up in a crisis.

[ There's something to say for cohabitation- most of the time. It feels like he keeps missing the guys in the house as of late. ]

_{[ He had gotten used to it over the years in Luceti, and even though he had his own room on the Enterprise, well, everyone was in a pretty tight space. Not a sardine can, but still close. It didn't take much to reach out and find another person. Apartments were a lot lonelier. ]}

Yeah, got a good price for it too. I need to finish furnishing it, and want to add a crash space, but it's working out nice so far.

Little far from the house, but that's not a bad thing. I like my morning ride in.

Pretty solid, got some new ideas for how to make things a little more legit. Not a lotta change but- I'm work'n out the details.

[ It'll be good for them to have something that doesnt' depend so much on back door deals for money. ANd to have regular hours. And not need to walk around with a vest on all the time. ]

It's weird, I feel like I'm finally settling into a life here. House, a studio, good friends...

Because I"m a professional paranoid and I've BEEN HERE long enough to know the pattern. Shit goes calm and alright for a bit- then something incredibly fucked up happens and we all have to deal, then it goes quiet or it ramps up until someone's dead.

Great. Patterns. Worrying about them and trying to anticipate them all will just give me heartburn and more sleepless nights than I already have. Just have to roll with it when it happens.

Yeah, if it didn't help in Luceti, probably not helping here. I have my own ways of dealing - but thanks.
