Leonard so desperately wanted to believe that Jim meant it, but they had been friends for years now, and he'd never suggested anything like this. Had never made a move on him. Sure, there had been a couple of times, especially at the Academy— a lingering stare, a smile aimed at him just so, a particular touch, but never an open offer, certainly never a proposition quite like this one. So he couldn't let his feelings for Jim cloud his judgement, because so far as he knew, the only reason why Jim was suggesting this now of all times was because of his... situation.

Still, he couldn't help feel a little bad for how miserable Jim seemed. He wanted to offer a comforting touch, or a gentle word, but what good would it do now? It'd just make things worse for Jim, most likely. So he quietly tugged the covers up to Jim's shoulders, tucking him in as comfortably as possible.

"I'll come by to check up on you, I promise," he assured him. Maybe not as often as Jim would like, and probably less and less the more intense his heat got, but he'd try his best. "Try to drink water often. Make sure to eat, too. If I can't come here too regularly, I'll contact you."
