It wasn't really an admonishment, though Kirk wasn't exactly pleased with James' use of drugs and over indulgence of alcohol in this place. But he hardly wanted to seem a nag, either. Days like this he wasn't going to make a big deal of it though. But seeing James curled up on the couch and not dancing? Not even with Kavinsky? That was new, and a touch worrisome.

So he slid his arms around James from behind, making sure to brush his ring finger and the warm metal of his new ring across James' jaw as he did so. The ring hadn't come off, not for a second since he had gotten it. Well, maybe when he got in the shower, but that was it (he didn't want it rusting after all!), and he had full on cried when presented the token from his other half.

"Did the glass do something to you?" he asked curiously, resting his chin atop James' head.
