[ LOCKED ] The Odd Couple

The door slammed maybe a bit to loudly as Kirk entered the dorm space he had been sharing with one Malcolm Reed for the better part of a year. Out of deeply ingrained habit he slipped out of his shoes by the door and kicked them to the side, coming around the partition into the main living space. The zipper of of his uniform went down next, casually tossing it onto his bed, though it hung off the side like a distressed damsel.

Naked from the waist up he threw open the doors to his closet, humming some song or another under his breath as he flicking through the various shirts he owned that were nice enough to require hangars. Was it going to be that kind of party? Stacy hadn't really said, but Stacy being Stacy, well, she'd like the button ups...

"Hey, don't throw the top lock tonight," he said over his shoulder to his roommate. "I don't know when I'll be back. Might want to put your ear plugs in too, just in case."

His warning given, he went back to perusing his shirts - not that he had that many to choose from, but hey, a guy had to be stylish.

Malcolm rolled his eyes a bit and took care of the lock for Jim, tugging him into their room. "But you wouldn't put grapes on a pizza, and pineapple tastes just fine. There are much worse things you could put on. Like anchovies. Who thought that up, that's what I want to know." He maneuvered Jim toward Jim's bed to sit him down.

He wasn't to leave Jim's bed for the moment, it seemed. Malcolm gave his thigh a pat as he called up one of the more reputable pizza joints for their order, and nobody had better complain about pineapple on pizza, right Jim?

And, well, it wasn't unpleasant to have Jim's bodily attention on him. While he could hardly say he'd been alone since coming here, leaving home behind and thus everything he'd known the way he had was both freeing and terrifying. But while he was here? He took advantage of the freeing side. Trying things he never had before, doing things he'd never been allowed to before. Never too late for a rebellious stage, right?

"You're very affectionate when you're tipsy, did I tell you that already?" Well, at least it was downgraded from 'drunk' to 'tipsy'. He still wasn't sure just where Jim fell, and whoever wanted to get taken advantage of in an inebriated state?

Clearly they need to start going to the gym together. Why hadn't he thought of that? Was that really how he came off as, the secluded bookworm? Better to be seen as studious than the fratboy, although despite his ways, Jim's grades were top of the class. (Which was infuriating. How could this guy hanging on him, getting close, getting closer, be so much better in every way?)

"It's different," he admitted. Both the affectionate attention from a guy and the affection as a whole. That Jim was tactile was no surprise at all, and he'd learned to get used to and tolerate the claps on the shoulders, touches here and there of a friendly nature. Arms around him, lips on his jaw? That was different.

Malcolm in turn slid a cautious arm around Jim. "Different's not bad."

"Oh-" Well this is a compromising position. One heightened by needy tongue and promising lips. This could hurt them. But it also didn't have to mean anything at all.

Malcolm's hands slid around to cup Jim's ass. Which was a mighty fine ass. Come on, of course he'd noticed. Hard not to. "Pretty glad you talked me into it, too," he said with a mild chuckle, tilting his head, stretching skin, baring more neck.

"I think there might be a little more fun to be had at the afterparty." His back arched ever so slightly at the touch, words a rumble in his throat. Despite his hesitation, this was certainly attention he could enjoy.

He turned his head enough to kiss Jim's cheek, nuzzle against him for a moment. "Are you sure you want this?" It was pretty rhetorical; obviously he did. But Malcolm just--he wanted to be sure that Jim was sure, even with a buzzing blanket of alcohol around them.

There are rules in Starfleet, rules regarding fraternization. But they aren't officers yet. They're just cadets in school. Same rank, technically. Nothing wrong with having a little fun. It's just going to be a matter of how they see each other in the morning.

How they see each other now, well, that was another matter entirely. Jim certainly was eager to take the initiative, Malcolm so hesitant to. He could stop this, if he wanted to. But hips, strips of bare skin, lips on lips? Jim made a compelling argument. He kissed back, a little eager to try out this new experience, and ran his hands up Jim's back, dragging fabric up along the way.

It's an odd question, though not out of place, to be bringing up right then. With their shirts off and mouths tangled up in one another, with fingers and nails teasing at his skin, and a shudder of unexpected delight to the particular attention at his chest.

He could end this at any time, so the fact that they were still going should have been answer enough. Was he nervous? Extraordinarily so. Was he going to stop? Not now. "Keep going."
